Long gone are the days of buying your portable based on how many watts you need! If this is 10 hours a year for your home and the big concern is motor load you are at the GP level, if your are a contractor or dealing with sensitive computers you need to look at the XP line. Things to consider are

 

• How often and how long will it run?
• Do I need electric start?
• Do I have to move this around, will I need wheels?
• How loud is it or "do I like my neighbours?"
• Do I need to run this in rain and snow?
• How good of a quality of power does it need to make?
• If this is for emergency power how close is my dealer.
